At Tintwistle C of E Primary School, RE is subject which allows all of our learners to develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding of Christianity, of other principal religions, other religious traditions, and worldviews. RE also contributes to pupils’ personal development and well-being and to community cohesion by promoting mutual respect and tolerance in a diverse society.
Â
RE lessons offer opportunities for personal reflection and spiritual development, deepening the understanding of the significance of religion in the lives of others – individually, communally, and cross-culturally. We follow the Blackburn Diocese Questful RE Syllabus. RE is taught through a broad and ambitious Curriculum which is coherently planned and sequenced to allow all learners to deepen their understanding of the Christian faith and other world faiths.
Â
RE is a subject which promotes our Christian vision and allows all pupils to develop an understanding of faith and celebrate other cultures within our community. Through RE, pupils develop a mutual respect for other religions and cultures which is a key British value. RE at Tintwistle informs about faith, inspires for life, challenges reasoning, and celebrates difference. Our aim is that through the positive teachings of Jesus our pupils will have strong moral compass and ambition which will positively impact on their future learning and employment providing them with the cultural capital they need to succeed in life.
