Welcome to The Early Years Foundation Unit

In the Foundation Unit you will find Miss Jones  (EYFS Teacher), Mrs Wilkinson (Teaching Assistant), Miss Bagshaw (Teaching Assistant) and Miss Redfearn (Teaching Assistant). Each one of us welcomes you and looks forward to learning more about your child and helping them to have a successful year. We believe that when children are happy in their environment they will learn and grow as individuals.

A range of fun and interactive activities are provided for your child to experience and enhancements within areas are planned to develop independent learning. If you would like to know more about the Early Years Curriculum please see the Early Years Curriculum page.

Don't forget to take a look at our parent board in the coat area as we often share upcoming dates for Stay and Play sessions and any useful information just as we do on Tapestry and the School website.

It is really helpful if you can read your child's reading book each week and also take a look on www.activelearnprimary.co.uk as there are extra books and games for your child to play. You will be sent home an individual username and password for your child, please see me if you have any trouble logging on.

Other useful websites to take a look at include:

Derbyshire have produced a document 'Ready for School' in order to help parents prepare their children for starting school, this can be found through the link Www.derbyshire.gov.uk

A healthy snack and drink of water/milk is provided for your child free of charge, however once they reach their 5th birthday milk has to be paid for if it is still required, you can do this via www.coolmilk.com. Toast is available to buy on Fridays for 20p.

If you would like to chat about your child's progress or have any concerns please come in and speak to your child's key person, they will be happy to help. Also I am always available if you require further information, please don't hesitate to come in.
