Welcome to Class 2
Welcome to Class 2
We aim to have lots of fun in our class whilst covering the curriculum. Our topics are designed to capture the imagination of young children and used as a vehicle to develop skills.
Literacy and numeracy homework
Homework is collected in on a Thursday , and new tasks are added ready for your child to bring home on a Friday. Our literacy homework is a spelling sheet, with spellings relevant to the literacy or phonics teaching for that week. There will be a quick 'quiz' on a Thursday, so practising at home really helps. Some weeks there may be a game to play on Bugclub. Please follow the link below, homework games can be found in 'my stuff' once your child has logged in.
Reading books will be changed once a week, either by myself, Mrs Coleman or Miss Crookes. We are really lucky to have Barbara too, she comes in once a week and your child may read with them. Please make sure reading books and diaries are in school every day.
Numeracy homework can be found online now. We will have a look at the allocated task each Thursday in class, that way your child will know which homework they have to complete. The games can be found by following the link below and clicking on the Abacus icon in 'My Stuff'.
Please don't hesitate to come and speak to me if you have any problems.
Our P.E days are Monday and Tuesday. Please can you make sure kits are in school and named clearly. An outdoor kit would be useful, jogging bottoms and a jumper are ideal so we can get outside when the weather allows.
We will try to change library books on a Tuesday, the children love going to the library and choosing a new book. Please try to have their library book in their book bag so they can change it if they wish to do so.
Forest School Friday
For the first term, every Friday afternoon, we will enjoy a Forest School session with Miss Corkin. We have all kinds of fun and also use this time to become scientists and use our fabulous outdoor environment to investigate and explore. The children will bring home a letter with all the information you need before our first session. I will dd photos to the Forest School page so you can see what we have been up to!
The children are able to buy a slice of toast on a Friday. This costs 20p.
Please come and find me if you have any questions or concerns, after school is usually better, as there is more time to chat- and it's much quieter! You can always make an appointment, see Sue and she will book you in.
