Welcome to Class 4

Y3/4

We aim to have lots of fun in our class whilst covering the curriculum. Our topics are designed to capture the imagination of the children and used as a vehicle to develop skills.

Homework

I will collect homework in on a Thursday and add new tasks ready for your child to bring home on a Friday. Our English homework is a spelling sheet, with spellings relevant to the English or phonics teaching for that week. There will be a dictation on a Friday, so practising at home really helps. Maths homework is either a sheet or an online game on ‘ActiveLearn’. We will have a look at the allocated task each Thursday, that way your child will know which homework they have to complete.  You can find the games by following the link below and clicking on' my stuff'.

I will put the login details in on their homework folder once we get going with it.

Reading

We read throughout the week with children in guided reading sessions.  Your child will read with either  myself or a teaching assistant. The children will also bring home a library book to share with you. Our slot for the library is on a ..........., please make sure library books are returned to school so they can be swapped.

 P.E

We have PE on a Monday and a Tuesday for Spring term.   Please make sure your child comes to school in PE kit on this day.  Please ensure this is an outdoor kit, jogging bottoms and a jumper are ideal so we can get outside when the weather allows. Unfortunately we don’t have room for rucksacks and backpacks on our pegs, so if you could use school book bags that would be super! If you do not have these, we have some in school so please ask us.

Please come and find me if you have any questions or concerns, after school is usually better, as there is more time to chat- and it's much quieter! You can always make an appointment, see Sue and she will book you in.
